A construction company is on the hunt for a GM of HR to join their organisation.

Your new company

Our client is a conglomerate within the heavy services sector specialising in construction. They are on the hunt for an experienced and dynamic GM of HR to join their organisation where they will be a strategic leader and play a critical role in shaping the organisational culture, employee engagement and aligning HR strategies with the business objectives.

Your new role

As the Head of HR, you will be tasked with:

  • Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Leading and managing the HR team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Overseeing the recruitment process to attract and retain top talent.
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
  • Developing and managing performance appraisal systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations.
  • Overseeing the design and administration of compensation and benefits programs.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to qualify for this role, you must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labour laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop HR teams.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is a plus.
