IT Operation Specialist

Newly Created IT Operation Specialist role in Manufacturing Industry

Your new company

This is a newly created role with one of the leading global producers of industrial minerals. They produce and distribute their chemicals worldwide, which serve various industries in the market. Their office is located in Shah Alam.

Your new role

Your main responsibility is to be the on-site IT Specialist for all the Company's sites in Malaysia (i.e. plants, warehouse and factory).

  • Hardware Management: Oversee hardware asset management, including device replacement and inventory accuracy and provide accurate data inventory
  • Software Management: Consult on local software requirements and advise whether it requires any software licence renewal
  • Procurement Support: Handle local IT procurement tasks, approvals, and financial processes
  • Service Provider Management: Manage local IT service providers and contracts
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure readiness and maintenance of on-site server rooms and IT facilities
  • Business Liaison: Act as a contact for local business requests and escalations.
  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of the IT environment
  • Obsolescence Planning: Support planning and execution of hardware/system obsolescence
  • Compliance: Stay informed about local compliance requirements and inform Service Owners
  • Project Support: Act as the Subject-Matter Expert for the execution of IT Projects

    What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum of 4 years in an IT Operation / IT Workplace / IT Infrastructure role

  • Has experience in IT Project Management and Project Execution

  • Strong technical knowledge of IT Infrastructure

  • Good English proficiency
