My client is a well-established multinational manufacturer specialising in advanced electronic components and interconnect solutions, based in Penang. They are looking for a Quality Manager to drive continuous quality improvement and contribute to long-term business success by ensuring product quality adheres to standards.
Your new role
Quality Control & Improvement: Oversee incoming material quality and supplier management, ensuring compliance with work instructions and proper resource allocation for outgoing product inspections. Lead resolution of on-site and supplier-related quality issues by guiding engineers, coordinating cross-functional solutions, and balancing quality, delivery, and cost. Drive continuous quality improvement through monthly audits, 6 Sigma initiatives, and daily improvement activities by the quality team.
People Management: Lead and manage the quality department in terms of proper work allocation, timely performance feedback, conduct failure analysis and SI testing. Assure compliance to requirements and optimisation of process capabilities to ensure product quality, customer service, and cost-effectiveness.
Procedure & Policy:Review and update department policies, prepare related materials, and monitor implementation to ensure alignment with corporate standards.
Budgeting: Coordinate with teams to prepare annual department budget and work plan; monitor monthly expenses against budget, analyse results, and report to the director for effective budget control.
Reporting: Prepare and submit operational and quality performance reports to management and relevant stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
Minimum 8 years of experience in the advanced electronic components and interconnect solutions industry
Possess strong negotiation skills, demonstrate excellent teamwork for seamless collaboration, apply logical thinking to solve problems efficiently, and are able to stay composed and perform well in high-stress situations.
Proficiency in both English & Mandarin is a MUST for international stakeholder management.
