Your new role
Your responsibilities as a Purchasing Assistant Manager include:
- Lead and develop the purchasing team, driving effective sourcing strategies and ensuring timely, cost‑efficient, and high‑quality supply of materials and services.
- Execute strategic procurement for direct and indirect materials in alignment with business objectives and company policies.
- Translate production and sales forecasts into purchasing plans to secure uninterrupted material availability.
- Strengthen supplier performance through relationship management, monitoring lead times, and ensuring capacity readiness.
- Improve systems and processes by identifying gaps, establishing best practices, and preventing supply disruptions that could impact production or revenue.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing and procurement
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
- Solid understanding of sourcing strategies, supplier management, and supply continuity planning.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Fluent in English, Malay and Mandarin
- Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt to a fast-paced operational environment.
