Your new role
As an influential leader within their organisation, you will oversee regional logistics trade compliance for Southeast Asia. Your responsibilities will include managing and ensuring compliance with import and export regulations and collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain efficient and compliant logistics operations. You will address compliance-related issues promptly, handle high volumes of trade activities, and ensure accurate documentation and reporting. Additionally, you will provide guidance on trade compliance matters, keep stakeholders informed, and work towards enhancing operational efficiency and adherence to regulations. Your primary focus will be on optimising trade compliance processes, fostering strong relationships with regulatory authorities, and proactively resolving any compliance issues that arise.
What you'll need to succeed
- Extensive hands-on experience in preparing, reviewing, and managing complex customs compliance documentation and consolidation, including import/export declarations, licences, and permits, with strong accuracy in product classification using HS codes.
- Strong understanding of global trade regulations, FTAs, including export control and import control requirements, ensuring full compliance while proactively identifying and mitigating regulatory risks.
- Proven track record in overseeing end-to-end customs and trade compliance for cross-border operations, ensuring alignment with internal policies and external regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong experience in developing and preparing regulatory reports, conducting internal compliance audits, and implementing corrective actions to minimise penalties, improve controls, and maintain operational continuity.
- Effective regional stakeholder management to drive compliance consistency and resolve complex trade-related issues.
- Skilled in delivering presentations at the regional level, translating regulatory requirements into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Seasonal travelling on a quarterly basis to support regional operations, audits, and stakeholder engagements across different markets.
- Strong English command.
