Your new role

This is an Assistant Manager, Payment Services role, where you will play a key part in ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of billing, collections, and policy payout transactions.
Working closely with the Team Lead, you will support daily operations, manage exceptions, and assist with escalations while maintaining strong internal controls and regulatory compliance. The role offers hands-on exposure to payment operations, stakeholder coordination, and team support within a structured and regulated environment.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Supervising and supporting billing, premium collection, and payout processing to ensure transactions are completed accurately and within agreed service standards.
  • Reviewing and executing payouts for cash benefits, dividends, maturity, annuity, and suspense items in line with established procedures and controls.
  • Monitoring operational reports, investigating discrepancies, identifying root causes, and supporting corrective or preventive actions.
  • Preparing and supporting periodic reports, including ageing and suspense items, for review by senior team members.
  • Assisting in monitoring billing, refund cycles, and system‑related issues, escalating anomalies where necessary.
  • Handling straightforward escalations and providing clear recommendations for approval.
  • Supporting the supervision and development of junior team members to maintain consistent quality and service delivery.
  • Responding to enquiries from policyholders, financial representatives, and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborating closely with internal teams such as Finance, Bancassurance, and New Business, as well as external partners, to resolve issues and ensure a consistent customer experience.
  • Taking ownership of operational, business, and regulatory risks and supporting risk mitigation activities.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in insurance or financial services operations.
  • Ideally 3–4 years of experience in insurance or financial services, with exposure to payment services, billing, collections, or policy administration.
  • Good understanding of premium collection processes and payment channels.
  • Ability to assess issues, exercise judgement, and handle straightforward escalations independently.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform quality checks and reviews.
  • Good organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise work in a structured environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Team-oriented approach, with willingness to support knowledge sharing and team capability building.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and ownership, particularly in regulated operations.
  • A proactive mindset towards process improvements and adapting to change.
