A well-established organisation within the services industry is seeking a high-calibre Assistant Vice President, Finance Operations to support and lead finance operations across a portfolio of diverse, customer-facing commercial businesses.
This role sits at the intersection of finance operations and commercial partnership, offering exposure to complex, high-volume environments and close collaboration with senior operational stakeholders.
Your new role
Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will oversee end-to-end finance operations for multiple business units while acting as a strong business partner to operational heads. You will play a key role in strengthening financial discipline, improving processes and supporting performance delivery across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing day-to-day finance and accounting operations across multiple commercial business units
- Ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting, management accounts and operational insights
- Partnering with operational leaders to manage operating costs, improve margins and achieve financial targets
- Reviewing, implementing and enhancing finance policies, systems and operational procedures
- Driving process improvements to strengthen controls, improve efficiency and maximise returns
- Supporting system and process enhancements (including POS and operational finance systems) to improve reporting automation and customer experience
- Managing credit controls to support revenue growth while balancing risk exposure
- Reviewing capital expenditure proposals, investment feasibility and returns analysis
- Supporting compliance across direct and indirect taxation, including SST, industry-related duties and e-invoicing requirements
- Leading, mentoring and developing finance managers and teams, with a focus on capability building and talent retention
What you'll need to succeed
You are a seasoned finance professional with strong operational grounding and growing leadership exposure in complex environments.
You will bring:
- Typically above 10 years of relevant finance experience, including managerial responsibilities
- Proven experience leading teams and managing multiple priorities across business units
- Prior background in external audit manager, ideally with exposure to commercial industry of a high-transaction environments
- Strong understanding of financial controls, management reporting and operational finance
- Solid working knowledge of direct and indirect taxes, regulatory compliance and e-invoicing
- Hands-on experience in tax schedules, analysis and audit support
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to partner stakeholders and influence decisions
- An improvement-driven approach, with interest in systems, automation and value creation
