Group Chief Strategy Officer
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Executive Leadership Role
We are partnering with a well-established and diversified listed conglomerate with regional presence to appoint a Group Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). This role is critical in driving enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, corporate finance, fundraising, long-term value creation, and transformational growth across multiple business units.
This is a confidential search for a forward-thinking strategic leader with a strong track record in investment, corporate finance, and large-scale business transformation.

Your new role

• Lead the development and execution of the Group’s overall corporate finance and strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives
• Identify, evaluate, and execute strategic investments, partnerships, joint ventures, fundraising and M&A opportunities
• Drive end-to-end deal execution including due diligence, valuation, structuring, negotiation, and integration
• Oversee financial modelling, capital allocation strategies, and return optimisation across portfolio businesses
• Support fundraising initiatives, including engagement with banks, institutional investors, and capital markets participants
• Work closely with business unit leaders to enhance operational efficiencies and unlock growth opportunities
• Provide strategic advisory to senior leadership and Board on market trends, risks, and opportunities
• Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, advisors, and external stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA or professional qualifications (ICAEW/CFA/CPA) preferred
• Proven track record (typically 15+ years) in investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or a similar strategic leadership role
• Strong experience in M&A, fundraising, financial modeling, and capital structuring
• Demonstrated ability to lead and execute complex transactions and strategic initiatives
• Extensive network within banking, financial institutions, and investment communities
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to bridge strategy and operations
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
• High level of discretion and professionalism given the confidential nature of strategic initiatives
