Your new role
- Responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the organisation's data architecture. This role requires a deep understanding of data management principles, hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and efficient data solutions. You will play a key role in designing, developing and optimising data pipelines, ensuring the efficient and reliable flow of data from source to destination. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data engineering.
- Data Strategy and Planning: collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and define data architecture standards aligned to the overarching data strategy of PayNet Data.
- Data Modeling and Design: create a visual representation of the structure and organisation of data within a system or database, implementing scalable and robust best practice data models that meet current and future business.
- Database Management: overseeing the selection, implementation, management, optimisation, and troubleshooting of database technologies.
- Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to move and transform data from various sources to destination systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure the successful implementation of data integration solutions.
- Data Governance and Security: work with the data quality and governance team to establish policies and procedures overseeing data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration and Communication: collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Leadership and Mentoring: lead and mentor a team of data architects and engineers; provide guidance and foster a culture of continuous learning; drive innovation and stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data architecture.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience (8+ years) as a Data Architect/Engineer, with a track record of successful data architecture design and implementation.
- Expertise in data modelling, database design, and data management technologies (e.g., relational databases, NoSQL, big data platforms).
- Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance principles.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
