Your new company
You will be joining an organisation operating within Malaysia’s electrical infrastructure ecosystem, supporting the expansion of medium‑ and high‑voltage distribution and transmission networks. The environment brings together engineering, commercial strategy, and long‑term grid development, offering exposure across utilities, EPCs, technology providers, and regulatory stakeholders. It is a setting suited for leaders who enjoy shaping how national‑level power systems evolve and modernise.
Your new role
As the Head of Business Development for Malaysia, you will lead market growth initiatives across the full distribution and transmission landscape. This includes defining the commercial roadmap, identifying investment opportunities in areas such as grid automation, substations, protection systems, and power quality, while also building strong relationships with government-linked bodies, consultants, and major utilities. You will guide tender strategy, oversee customer engagement, collaborate closely with engineering teams, and drive long-term positioning for new technologies supporting grid reliability and expansion. Leadership of a developing BD team will also be a key part of the mandate.
What you'll need to succeed
You should bring a proven track record in business development or commercial leadership within the power sector — ideally across transmission, distribution, or advanced grid technologies. A strong understanding of Malaysian utility operations, procurement frameworks, and relevant technical standards is essential. Established networks within the national electrical infrastructure community will help you influence major decisions. You will succeed in this role if you combine strategic commercial thinking with the ability to navigate complex proposals, secure multi‑year contracts, and communicate effectively with senior industry stakeholders. A degree in electrical engineering, energy systems, or a business‑related field is expected.
What you'll get in return
You will gain the opportunity to shape the future of Malaysia’s electrical grid, help drive innovation in network modernisation, and play a significant role in strengthening national infrastructure. The role provides wide exposure to decision-makers across utilities, regulatory bodies, and technology partners, while also offering the scope to define long-term commercial direction. It is a chance to build and lead a high‑performing team and influence projects that contribute to resilience, sustainability, and the country’s long-term energy ambitions.
