An established market-leading conglomerate is seeking a seasoned finance leader to take on a pivotal Vice President, Finance role. Based in Kuala Lumpur, this position will oversee end-to-end commercial finance operations across multiple commercial business units with high transaction volumes and customer-facing activities.

Your new role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational finance leadership across diverse revenue-generating operations. You will lead a sizeable finance team and act as a trusted business partner to operational heads, driving financial discipline, process excellence and sustainable profitability.

• Providing overall leadership for finance operations across multiple commercial units, ensuring strong governance, controls and compliance
• Leading, mentoring and developing a large finance team, including direct management of senior managers
• Driving timely, accurate financial reporting, management accounts and performance insights
• Partnering closely with business leaders to manage costs, improve margins and deliver financial targets
• Reviewing and enhancing financial policies, systems and operational processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Identifying opportunities to optimise returns, strengthen controls and enhance operational performance
• Supporting system enhancements (e.g. POS and operational finance systems) to improve reporting automation and customer experience
• Overseeing credit management to balance revenue growth with risk exposure
• Reviewing capital expenditure proposals, investment feasibility and post-implementation returns
• Ensuring strong compliance across direct and indirect taxation, including SST, industry-specific duties and e-invoicing requirements
• Keeping pace with digital and technological advancements to elevate finance’s value to the business

What you'll need to succeed

You are a commercially astute finance leader with strong people leadership capabilities and experience operating in complex, high-volume environments.

• A minimum of 15 years’ relevant finance experience, including senior leadership exposure
• Proven track record managing and developing sizeable finance teams
• Prior background in external audit, ideally covering services / hospitality / retail or related industries.
• Strong working knowledge of direct and indirect taxation, regulatory compliance and e-invoicing
• Hands-on experience in tax analysis, schedules and compliance reviews
• Demonstrated ability to partner operations and influence senior stakeholders
• Solid experience in cost management, margin optimisation and commercial decision support
• A mindset focused on continuous improvement, process enhancement and talent development
